Small Business Research Program was extended for six years

Small Business Innovation Research Program (SBIR) and small business technology transfer (SBTT) Program, which provides federal technology research fund for small businesses, to expire Friday and will now funded for an additional six years.

These two initiatives, which mandates federal agencies devote a percentage of their research budget for u.s. companies, will be included as an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).

In the past, the Government with an annual research budget of over $ 100 million to provide 2.5% for small businesses, but the allocation has been bumped up to 3.2%. People with an annual research budget of over $ 1 billion now had to allocate. 045% of funding for small businesses, up from 15%.
